Following “Throwing Golden Rice”along Shanghai’s Huangpu River and “Gold Rush Rice” at Beijing’s 798 Art District, artist Yexin Yang will present his new exhibition Trace on March 7, 2026, officially opening at the Art Museum of Nanjing University of the Arts. For this exhibition, Yang will invite 50 volunteers to participate in a special performative experiment, collectively composing 50 living archives of pain, power, and history.
The “shoe sole” is another enduring artistic symbol in Yang’s practice. Through this motif, he explores the deeper meaning of human existence and examines how, in everyday life, we interact with the world through action—leaving behind indelible traces.
