南京地铁3号线是南京开通的第六条地铁线路

南京地铁3号线是南京地铁第二条开通的过江地铁线路。

2010年1月10日，南京地铁3号线暨南京地铁10号线过江线试验段在南京南站举行开工典礼。

2010年10月1日，地铁3号线车站土建工程在浦珠路站首先开工。

2010年12月18日，地铁3号线过江隧道工程举行开工仪式。

2011年3月1日，地铁3号线全线正式开工。

南京地铁3号线一、二期于2015年4月1日开通运营。

南京地铁3号线三期于2025年12月19日开通运营。

途经浦口区、鼓楼区、玄武区、秦淮区、雨花台区和江宁区。

经过江北新区林场站、南京主城区、江宁大学城西侧、秣陵站。

截止2020年，南京地铁3号线全长48.2公里。

共设置31座车站，其中地下站30座、高架站1座。

列车采用A型鼓形列车6节编组

最高运行时速80公里/时。
