Dear Editor,
     I truly appreciate the school’s effort to play TV programs in the canteen during lunch. Among all possible options, I firmly recommend news programs as the most rewarding choice.

    The reasons are twofold. For one thing, news coverage—ranging from politics and technology to economy and culture—offers us a valuable window into the real world. It helps us step beyond the limits of textbooks, broaden our horizons, and stay connected with what is happening both at home and abroad. For another, watching news on a daily basis can gradually cultivate our sense of social responsibility and civic awareness. In the long run, it lays a solid foundation for us to become well-informed, socially engaged citizens.

  Therefore, I am convinced that news programs can turn the lunch break into a truly relaxing and enlightening experience. I sincerely hope to see such programs playing in the canteen soon.
