On 17th April, a European Chamber delegation led by President Jens Eskelund held a closed-door meeting with Nanjing Mayor Li Zhongjun. Eskelund was joined by Chamber Vice President Carlo D’Andrea, States’ Representative Bruno Weill, Nanjing Chapter Chair Shan Jianhua, Nanjing Chapter Vice Chair Andreas Risch and Advisory Council members. Vice Mayor Xu Feng and the heads of relevant government departments also participated in the meeting.
Eskelund introduced the Nanjing Chapter’s membership and expressed members’ appreciation for the municipal government’s efficient services. Shan briefed officials on the concerns and recommendations from local members reflected in the Business Confidence Survey 2025. The attendees put forward suggestions to improve Nanjing’s investment environment, boost green development and the city’s appeal to international professionals, and increase international flight links.
Li noted Nanjing’s deepening foreign cooperation, solid manufacturing foundation, skilled workforce and supportive policies. He also highlighted airport expansion, route development, and support for small and medium-sized enterprises to boost investment confidence in Nanjing.
