南京地铁S8号线（宁天线）是南京开通的第五条地铁线路。
2012年6月13日，南京地铁S8号线全线13台盾构全部下井作业。
2012年6月21日，地铁S8号线一期工程开工仪式在六合区棠城广场举行。
南京地铁S8号线一期于2014年8月1日正式运营。
途经浦口区和六合区。
经过浦口桥北地区的长江大桥北站、江北大道、南京高新技术开发区、大厂地区、南京化学工业园区、六合副城，金牛湖站等部分区域。
截止2020年，南京地铁S8号线全长47.27公里，其中地下段14.272公里、高架段33公里。
共设置19座车站，其中高架站11座、地下站8座。
列车采用B型鼓形列车4节编组。
最高运行时速120公里/时。
是当时中国一次建成里程最长、运行速度最快的地铁。
